Adjusting measure axis scale type: Linear / Log

The axis scale is a key factor in revealing relevant trends in visual analytics, and selecting the appropriate type in an analysis setting can produce more informative and effective charts.

To change the scale type of the measurement axis in an aggregated chart,

1. Open the chart configuration panel (⚙icon), and
2. Select Linear or Logarithmic for the Axis Scale option.

This setting also applies to categorical maps, histograms (numeric data) and line charts (timestamp data), changing the scale of regions/bars/lines respectively.

Constraints

Logarithmic scale is not available when

• Using stacked charts, or
• Using any of the percentage-based breakdown modes, or
• Using sum or average measure functions with numeric data that has values that are zero or negative.
